On the App Store
Shelf
The books you own. The lines you keep.
A catalogue of the physical books you own and the lines you kept from them. Scan the barcode or point the camera at the cover, and Shelf identifies the book on device. Your shelf is your profile.
Friends open each other's shelves, lend books, and run book clubs where every comment is pinned to a page, so nobody reads a spoiler. There are no strangers and no follower counts.
Shelf works offline and catches up when you reconnect. It went live on the App Store in September 2026.

How it is built
Offline first
A cache and an outbox sit in front of the Convex backend. Every server mutation is idempotent, so replaying the outbox after a reconnect is safe.
Clubs that hide spoilers
Every thought is pinned to a page and stays locked until you reach that page. A Live Activity puts the next meeting on the Lock Screen.
Covers read on the phone
Point the camera at a cover and Vision reads it without sending the picture anywhere. Barcodes and typed titles work too.
Part of the system
Five widgets, Live Activities for sittings and club meetings, a Control Center control, and Siri shortcuts.
Ten languages
Shelf ships in ten languages, Arabic among them. The UI tests run Xcode's accessibility audit on every tab.
The artwork is code
Swift programs in the repo compose the App Store screenshots and the launch artwork, so a new build gets a new set.
